PhD, he is Full Professor of Lighting Design at Politecnico di Milano, Director of the Master in Lighting Design & LED Technology, Director of the Master in Colour Design & Technology, member of the PhD in Design.

He is currently scientific head of the Laboratorio Luce: a laboratory for photometry, colorimetry, lighting engineering, training and project research on Lighting Design, which he has helped design and set up since 2002. He has been president of the Associazione Italiana Colore since 2012 and president of the Conferenza del Colore since 2010.

His research activities concern new lighting technologies and the physiological and psychological effects of artificial lighting in relation to the built environment. Since 2002, at the Politecnico di Milano, he has directed over 20 research projects in collaboration with companies in the lighting sector (the main ones at: www.luce.polimi.it).
