YouRban Festival in Milan. Designing Together for a Circular Future
First pilot demonstration
From September 25 to October 6, 2025, Fabbrica del Vapore, via Procaccini 4, Milan

Fabbrica del Vapore will host the YouRban Festival, a ten-day event dedicated to circular design, sustainability, and urban innovation. The European YouRban project , coordinated by the Department of Mechanical Engineering in collaboration with Polifactory Research Laboratory of the Department of Design, offers a practical approach to ecological transition, demonstrating how fiber-reinforced composites (FRP) can be recovered and regenerated into new resources.
At the heart of the Festival will be the YouRban Mobile Lab: the first itinerant plant for the regeneration of reinforced plastics, installed in the Fabbrica del Vapore courtyard and offering technical demonstrations and activities open to the public.
The program, inspired by the principles of the New European Bauhaus and the European Green Deal, includes:
- Live demonstrations of regeneration technologies;
- Co-design workshops and educational activities for schools, citizens, and businesses;
- Presentations of sustainable products developed by the winners of the first YouRban open call;
- Artistic and performative moments, including participatory theatre, media, and digital arts.
YouRban provides a tangible opportunity for participation, training, and dialogue on the future of cities, promoting local, inclusive, and innovative production models in line with European priorities for the circular economy.
Participation is free, registration is required via EventBrite.
