Mobility beyond engineering: how can the humanities contribute?
AIIT National Conference 2025
20 June 2025, Automobile Club Milano, Corso Venezia 43, Milan
Mobility is an ever-evolving phenomenon, and today, more than ever, it is essential to take a systemic and multidisciplinary approach to the subject, integrating the technical, human, and social dimensions. To effectively address contemporary mobility challenges, such as road safety and sustainable mobility choices, it is crucial to analyse the phenomenon from all angles, considering not only technical and engineering aspects, but also sociological, psychological, philosophical, and communication aspects that influence human behaviour.
The aim of the conference is to explore this aspect of mobility by analysing theories, techniques and approaches from disciplines other than, and complementary to, transport engineering.
The conference is promoted and organised by AIIT (the Italian Association for Traffic and Transport Engineering) and will feature Fabio Borghetti, Roberto Maja, Laura Galluzzo and Carla Sedini.
