Designing intelligence for environmental reciprocity
Exhibition
From May 31 to June 8, 2025, Parco Nord Milano – Cascina Centro Parco, Via Clerici 150, Sesto San Giovanni

On May 31, 2025, at 5:00 PM, the exhibition showcasing five projects developed during the workshop Designing Intelligence for Environmental Reciprocity will be inaugurated. The workshop took place last February at Politecnico di Milano, within the Master's Degree Program in Communication Design.
The exhibition focuses on the theme of Artificial Intelligence and its contradictions between energy consumption and environmental sustainability. While AI has the potential to support climate change mitigation and ecosystem protection, its high energy demands, reliance on mineral resources, and generation of electronic waste present significant environmental challenges.
Through a speculative approach, the exhibition explores the relationship between AI and the environment, revealing its hidden costs and fostering critical reflection on its impact.
In this context, the workshop invited participants to imagine projects capable of promoting a more conscious and responsible perspective—addressing issues such as AI’s water consumption, CO₂ emissions, mineral extraction, and the ethics of automation—thus sparking dialogue around AI, society, and nature.
The exhibition will be free and open to the public until June 8, 2025, with mandatory registration on the website festivalbiodiversita.it.
